My Top 5 Toys from the Wooden Toy Shop

Have you visited the virtual Wooden Toy Shop before?  I have and they have been fabulous; they offer a superb selection of wood toys for children.  There was nothing I could knock - good price, quality toys, great customer service, quick delivery and well packaged.

I was having a browse there earlier today and though I would share my top 5 picks with you -

Top Girls Toy when you want to Splurge!

Plan Toys Dolls House At £98.95 this is not the cheapest dolls house but it is my personal favourite. If my girls did not already have one I would be trying to persuade them this is what they should have for their birthday. I love the fact that it is open and you can easily access all rooms. Many a time have I been found tidying up my girls dolls house and making all the rooms look neat! The terrace and stairs are movable to make play even more fun and you can buy all sorts of wooden furniture accessories to fill it up.
Top Boys Toy when you want to Splurge!

Big Jigs Construction Train set with 116 pieces retails for £74.75 and I do not think this is a bad price considering the quality and longevity of wooden train sets. JJ was crazy about his train set for a number of years and many a rainy afternoon we sat there playing together. I love toys were children have to engage their imagination and make up a scenario.  Not only that it is also good for developing hand to eye coordination as they piece the train set together.

Best Unisex Value Toy

For his birthday JJ received this fabulous Big Jigs mini solitaire set and he loves it. Many a boring car journey has been made more fun by him challenging himself to get a better score and he is doing pretty well for an 8 year old.  The set is just £4.95 and the wooden case is sturdy and all the pegs store inside it when you are not using it. I have to say I do love my children playing with toys like this rather than being on a computer the whole time.

Best Unisex Creativity Toy

All my children have loved to thread beads from an early age. Boys and girls alike are quite happy to wear a necklace they have made themselves. This Melissa and Doug lacing Beads in a Box is a beautiful set for £12.94. The primary colours means this truly is universal and the dots and numbers on the beads help children to make counting fun.  As there are two long laces this makes the set suitable for twins and of course the wooden box houses all the beads perfectly when they are not in use.

Best Garden Toy

Summer will finally arrive at some point and then it will be fab for the kids to get back out into the garden.  I know my three would adore having something like this Plum Products Chacma Wooden Pole Activity Centre. Just look at it!  You would be the most popular kid in the neighbourhood with 2 swings, slide, play den and climbing deck and all for £429.99.  Not such a bad price for the amount of kit that you get.

So there you have them, my top five picks for wood toys for children.  Why not have a browse at the Wooden Toy Shop now, I know you will not be disappointed.
